Looking back...

A year ago this Friday I was heading into the hospital not to return home for 7 days!  The whole 'Jack process' began Friday morning and ended Sunday morning....and that is all I will say about that other than I feel so blessed to have delivered a beautiful baby boy on mothers day 2010.  How cool it that?

Now almost 1 year later he has turned from a baby into a little boy with smiles, laughs, chatters, kisses and truck sounds galore.  As I prepare for his first birthday party, which will be occurring on Sunday, I reflect on the year that has passed before my eyes so quickly and think about how lucky I am.  What a precious boy he is turning out to be already.  I look forward to a lifetime of fun, laughter, smiles, tears and joy with this little guy and in no way can I ever imagine my life without him now that I have him!   He is truly my pride and joy.  The love of my life!

I have included one of Jack's 1 year portraits below to show you just how adorable this little tot is!

Still Waiting.

This look on Mattie's face says it all.
We are still waiting...

Impatient.

I am still waiting. Officially one day overdue I am beginning to realise that I did not prepare myself to have this baby any later than April 26th. Next time around I am going to tell everyone my due date is 1 week later than it is supposed to be so I get used to having that date in my head. It is really hard to be off work, all ready and waiting...waiting...waiting. My 'to do' list is almost empty for the first time in years! Pat's 'to do' list is growing as I have more time on my hands to sit around and think up ideas for him to do around the house. Auntie Dani is in NY city until the weekend. I am thinking he is just waiting for her to get back so she doesn't miss his entrance into the world - Dramatic like his Mom and Late like his Dad :)

Well please keep us in your thoughts and cross your fingers for me...Here's hoping I have him this week!

Introducing New Baby to Old Baby??

Does anyone have any tips? As the days go by I get more and more nervous about how jealous our dog baby is going to be when Jack moves into her palace. This little pup has a lot of adjusting to do very soon!

Last Day of Work!

I'm just sitting here at work with everything all wrapped up. I am stunned that this day has come already. Only 2 more weeks until I am due, is this possible? One very important lesson I have learned over the past 7 months is that time really does fly by. I must remember to enjoy every moment of the year ahead because before I know it I will be sitting back at this desk going full throttle.

We had another great report at the doctor yesterday. Baby seems to be down, doing well and growing very fast. Last week my doctor guessed that he was already over 7lbs. She is predicting an 8+ lb baby. Please pray that he is not over 9 as my mother had two 10+ lb babies....oh dear God spare me that feeling!!!

Well...I'm off to relax. Hopefully by the next post he will be here.

Pregnant Princess

I read in an article the other day to get ready to go from being the 'Pregnant Princess' to 'Cinderella Mommy'. I must admit I am enjoying the pregnant princess part. As I have said in previous posts I really do have an amazing support system who have been spoiling me the past few months. My Aunt Laurie Ann is hostessing a family baby shower for me next week. See the beautiful invites she hand made below. They are so sweet! I really am spoiled.

On another note we had a great report at the prenatal clinic this morning. My belly measurements are exactly on track, baby's heart rate is good and he is head down...Have I mentioned that we are ready?

The Nesters

growing, Growing, GROWING

35.5 weeks down, 30 lbs gained, only 4.5 weeks to go.

Cleaning, organizing, setting up, more cleaning....all things that are now a part of my regular day to day routine. I have officially started the nesting phase of my pregnancy. All is in place, clean and tidy...now if I could just have it stay that way for another 4 weeks I would be all set! I finally feel ready.

Pat has been doing a little 'nesting' of his own for a few weeks now. Well...I think it is his male version of nesting but he may not see it this way. He has been hard at work non-stop trying to make our basement fit for our home. Shoveling mud and jack hammering ledge, he impresses me more and more every day with his work ethic..something I hope he passes on to his son (I am sure he will).

Another Great Report

Another great report from the doctor this morning at 33.5 weeks. Blood pressure, heart beat and belly size are all great. Not much longer and the big day will be here. This little guy has 2 very anxious parents awaiting his arrival....and many excited relatives and friends.

Getting Ready!

With only 3 months and 2 weeks to go I have officially started "getting ready". You know... arranging the important things like newborn photos. For those of you who know me well know that I LOVE photos. I have finally decided on a photographer to take pics of our precious babe once he arrives. Wanted to share her site with you as her work with babies absolutely amazes me. Check out her baby portraits on the main website at:

We have recently started attending prenatal classes. 6 classes left to go! Pat doesn’t even put up a fuss about coming. It really reassures me that we are in this together. The nursery is also coming along nicely (I will post photos soon). I am not sure where the time is going as it seems to be moving so fast. Wish us luck in these last few months of freedom as everyone is telling me life is sure about to change for both of us.
