8 teeth..Day Care..Back to Work...

Just Jet skiing :)

OK, finally I have found time for a real update.  Forgive me as it has been so long since I have actually sat down and wrote a proper one.  Back to work in 6 weeks!  One word...Insane!!!  I can't believe how fast the time has gone.  We have slowly been preparing for the transition.  Jack has been attending day care one day a week for a few weeks now.  He is doing fantastic.  So far there have been NO tears.  I must admit it almost hurts my feelings but I am well aware that it is much easier to walk out the door when there are no tears than if he is crying a puddle of them.  Our sitter is wonderful.  Such a caring soul.  Jack already loves her but I think his favourite part is learning from the 3 other "older" boys (who are 3).

Jack has been teething for the past few weeks.  2 more on top for a total of 8 with a big gap between his top front teeth...too cute.  Good thing for those teeth as he is turning into a little boy who is quickly outgrowing his formula.  He wants real food now but only the kind he can feed himself.  His independence is growing stronger by the day.  Loves strawberries but only if he can feed them to himself, same with peas, carrots, pears, bananas, corn...you get the picture.  Yogurt and cereal are about the only things he will let me feed him.  No one ever told me how trying it is to teach a baby to eat....patience is a virtue!

We have added a few more activities to our "favourite things to do" list.  Watching cars, trucks and tractors has moved to the top of the list (Jack's list...not mine) surpassing swimming believe it or not.  Sliding (me pulling him around), reading, catching rain and snow on his tongue and watching TV are also popular these days.  Bath time is still a favourite.  Speaking of swimming and bathing...Jack had his first underwater experience at the pool last week.  The lifeguard convinced me to dunk him under water.  It took me 20 minutes to finally build up the courage and gain confidence in her technique and then I went for it.  Much to my surprise he did not mind it at all...in fact he has been trying to dunk himself ever since.  Definitely a water baby!

Sliding at Mama and Papa P's

Jack is pulling up, standing and trying to move around furniture now.  It won't be long before he is running through this tiny little house.  He is so proud of himself, as are we!

Starting to walk - No big deal :P

Next update:  Jack's first haircut....it is time as you can see below.

Mama's Got Her Groove Back!

My Update:

2.5 weeks and I haven't missed a run yet! 6 lbs off and 20 to go....ugh...I figure telling the world how much I have to lose will only push me that much more. I am motivated. Ready to get back to me but need a little patience. It is so hard to reduce that baby area and so hard to wait. Ah well, I am well on my way now. Progress is beginning to show itself.

Jack's Update:

Jack's little mouth is populating itself with many teeth. He just had another pop through and you can see where 3 more and just waiting to bust out of the gums. Poor lil guy. He is being a good sport about it though. Doesn't really seem to bother him too much. What a strong man he is going to be (just like daddy).

He is also becoming very vocal. Well when he is at home anyhow. He is constantly practicing his vowel sounds...aaaaaaaaaaaa, ooooooooooo, ouuuuuu. It is so cute! He has been rehersing all day. I just love hearing his little sounds. Whispering has also become very popular. Thank heavens as I much prefer it to the alternative. He is being very adventurous with his sounds which leads me to believe he may be a chatter box like his dad (kidding he prob gets this from him mom).

Well it is just about bath time which happens to be both of our favourite time of the day. Must get the water running and toys out. Will update again soon. Thanks for listening!

Sitting to Crawling?

Jack is sitting on his own and trying to crawl. He has figured out how to scoot backwards but still hasn't figured out how to get up on those knees. Will I have another easy week or will it be disrupted by a baby on the move? Only time will tell.

We had our needles today. And by we I mean Jack had 4 and I had 1. He is now 20 lbs 2 oz. Doc says time for a big boy carseat. I ordered a new one today! This time I decided to splurge and purchase exactly the one I wanted. Hopefully it is all I hope for.

We are trying to master the bedtime routine. He is still a terrible sleeper, waking up every 2 hours all night long. It seems it is for his soother but who really knows??? Perhaps he is growing, teething...etc.? It seems they just get in a routine and something new happens. Speaking of teething...Jack has 2 teeth (I have attached a pic below).

Well that is the update for today. So much changes from day to day now I will have to write more often.
